Over 2,500 current students and 400 prospective students filled Chase Gymnasium for Biola’s annual Midnight Madness pep rally beginning at 11:10 p.m on 11/10/13. The enthusiastic crowd and sea of red witnessed the highlighting of Biola's athletic teams while enjoying outstanding performances by the new Biola Dance Crew, XOPOC, and the singing of the National Anthem by The King’s Men. The Men's and Women's Basketball players were introduced and the men's and women's teams competed in their annual 3 point shoot out competition. Later, AS Spirit Club pumped up the crowd with a skit involving the Biola Eagle Mascot, and a handful of students represented their living communities by participating in a minute to win it game, competing for the chance to win Universal Studios tickets and 500 dorm points. At the close of the evening, students practiced rushing the court full of Biola Athletes [a Biola tradition after basketball victories] and enjoyed one last tradition: an explosion of red and white confetti. Midnight Madness was the perfect evening to bolster school spirit for Biola’s 2013-2014 basketball season, and to give prospective students and families a window into student life at Biola.
