  This Christianity Today article, written by Nate Bell, film history professor in the Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts, explores the enduring popularity of Jesus as a cinematic figure, spotlighting the upcoming wave of Christ-centered films and tracing their lineage back to the 1927 silent film "The King of Kings," which helped define the visual portrayal of Jesus in film. The film was recently re-released on Blu-Ray. The film’s artistry—marked by bold visual storytelling and reverent imagery—offers modern audiences a renewed opportunity to reflect on how cinema has shaped perceptions of Jesus.
